Photo Editing Apps to Make Every Photo ‘Instaworthy’

If you’re anything like me, your camera roll is filled with thousands of photos. You see other accounts and wonder how do they always have the perfect photo!? Sometimes a photo is just ‘eh’ until you take the right editing magic to it. While I’d love to capture every moment with my DSLR and edit in Lightroom, sometimes iPhone does it best when you need it. Here are my favorite photo apps I use from finalizing the perfect flatlay to adjusting the right lighting on your selfie.

A Color Story

Lifestyle blog Chocolate and Lace shares her favorite photo editing apps to make every photo 'instaworthy'.

One of my favorite additions to my iPhone, A Color Story brings to life your images with extra pops of color and bright whites. For photos that need a little kick you can add flare and bokeh for some extra sparkle or take your hand at the Color Fog for landscapes. I am in love with their newest addition set ‘Flashes of Delight’ from A Color Story’s newest collaboration with The Glitter Guide.

Shop my favorite iPhone photo accessory here! I can’t rave enough about the Joby for handsfree iPhone capturing.

Select one touch filters and adjust to your preferences for the perfect pop. Featured here is Chroma filter from the Chroma pack with a touch of Saturation and Clarity within the apps’ Tool kit. A Color Story is my go-to for brightly colored food photos and floral flay lays. Use #acolorstorychallenge to participate in the app’s challenges for a possible repost.

VSCO

Lifestyle blog Chocolate and Lace shares her favorite photo editing apps to make every photo 'instaworthy'.

One of the most popular editing apps, VSCO is your go-to for your vintage filtered photos. Easy to use editing tools and an entire VSCO community to contribute to make this one of the best apps to edit and share photography. Crop, fix, change temperatures and adjust lighting all with the touch or swipe of your finger. I love using VSCO for my city shots of Boston or Philly or when I’m able to capture my daughter in a beautiful moment, I head straight for the Legacy Pack. A5, check it out. For sharing use #vsco, #vscocam, #vscofood and #vsco kids as some of my favorites.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for iPhone

The mobile app for Lightroom is super helpful for those who edit with Lightroom and need to access their photos on the go or away from their computer. You can quickly edit and boost photos with my favorite tool – Clarity or use your customized Lightroom filters in two seconds flat. A must have for Lightroom users.

This is the Creative Cloud Annual Plan I use for Lightroom:

TouchRetouch

When you have captured that PERFECT scene on vacation BUT if only that awkward lady walking by wasn’t in the photo…yea….this is your solution. TouchRetouch is super easy to use and remove unwanted objects from your photos. Need any other reason to use this app? Nope.

Videoshop

As video becomes the fastest growing and most popular form of content, Videoshop has been one of my favorite apps to edit, cut and merge video on the fly. It’s super easy to use and you can add built-in app music or your new favorite tunes from your phone. I love using the speed or slow down function to make your video clips coincide with the tempo of the song you’re using. Hashtag, #awesome.

Word Swag

Lifestyle blog Chocolate and Lace shares her favorite photo editing apps to make every photo 'instaworthy'.

For all you Pinterest users this is the perfect app to use for Pinterest where you can crop in vertical range, which is best for Pinterest and add eye-catching text. Love making your own pretty sayings and memes? Word Swag gets the job done here too. You can choose between preloaded images on the app or using your own. With a number of gorgeous fonts and colors, this is your one stop shop for applying text to your photos.

You can find all apps listed here at The Apple App Store. I’d love to hear what your favorite go-to apps are int he comments below! If you’ve enjoyed this post please use the buttons below to share.

Snapseed!!!! Love the HDR filters there. It’s how I built up my Instagram base. And colorsplash much? Can’t do it without my Avery app I have had for over 5 years!
