This post is in partnership with Freshpet. Check out Freshpet refrigerated pet food made in small batches with fresh ingredients here. My sponsors help me to deliver great content to this blog and I only work with brands that I genuinely use.
Here I’m known as Mommy to Bailey and Mia, but my first baby, was a fur baby. Olivia, our little 7 lb Yorkie, is now 11. As I recently returned back to work after having Mia, the whole family was adjusting, including Olivia. She went from walks along side the stroller and slow cooked chicken made just for her at lunch time, to seeing us leave every morning and return hours later each night. I wanted to do something different to take care of my dog and give her a little bit more love as I headed out the door each day.
During her annual check up, I pulled up the ingredients to Freshpet with my Veterinarian and we decided to try the Tender Chicken Recipe for Small Breed Dogs. This is a brand new product to the Freshpet Line and I love that it lists real ingredients on the label, no artificial preservatives. From the moment Olivia heard me open the bag straight from the refrigerator, she came running!
I open the ziplock closure on the bag and easily poured out about a half of a cup for Olivia. The appropriate bite-sized morsels were tender and I could see the carrots and berries pouring out. Olivia has always loved berries. Maybe it’s her New England blood! Freshpet does not contain any fillers, pre-processed meat powders, grains, gluten or soy. Just real 100% US farm raised meat as the #1 ingredient.
She began jumping up on her hind legs whining at me to bring her food closer. She hasn’t reacted that way to dog food in years! What I love the most about the Freshpet Recipe is the easiness of use. There are no cans, no packing films to peel or utensils needed to touch the food. You just pour and serve out of the refrigerated packaging. It’s as easy as pouring a bowl of cereal! Making (fur) motherhood simple is important to me in my crazy mornings trying to get our family packed and out of the house.
If you’re looking to elevate your dog’s current food I would definitely recommend checking out all the Freshpet flavors and speaking with your Veterinarian about switching your dog food. As chief mom-in-charge I love to take care of and make ALL my girls happy, especially my first baby Olivia. If you have any questions or want to reach out, drop a comment below or drop me a DM on Instagram. I’ll just be here with Olivia, who’s living the dream eating Freshpet Select Tender Chicken Recipe. Someone hand her a golden dish!
